What is it?
The most serious skin cancer. It starts in pigment-producing cells (melanocytes).

What does it look like?
Usually a changing mole. Warning signs: irregular shape, uneven colour, large size, or rapid change.

Why does it happen?
Caused by UV damage, especially sunburn. Higher risk with fair skin or family history.

Is it dangerous?
Yes. Melanoma can spread quickly if not caught early.

Treatment
Surgical removal is essential. Advanced cases may need immunotherapy or other treatment.

When to see a doctor again
If you see a mole changing or a new unusual spot, get it checked urgently.
